Brand Blast: Glam Polish Finale!

Hey guys!

Nothing To Disclose

And we've come to the last day of Glam Polish Week! Have you enjoyed it? Do you like these Indie Features? I personally like swatching a whole brand at once for several reasons, one being that I often forget what polishes I have from a certain brand and these help me to remember! LOL. So let's get to the last day of Glam Polish Week!

Firework is medium green  linear holo. As I mentioned with all of the other polishes this week, a perfect formula and 2 glorious coats, plus topcoat.

Zonk! is dark teal strong scattered holo with large holographic glitters. Again, 2 perfect coats, plus topcoat.

Somewhere That's Green is an emerald green with gold holographic glitter. Anddd again, 2 perfect coats plus topcoat. So so gorgeous.

Alright, that's a wrap on Glam Polish week! I have some ideas for future Brand Blast features, so stay tuned! :)

Have you tried Glam Polish? What are your favorites?

Themed Thursday: Winter Wonderland featuring ILNP

Hey guys!

Nothing To Disclose

Today is the last day of Themed Thursday for January! The theme today is Winter Wonderland so I busted out some ILNP holos for my take on a winter wonderland.

I started with a gradient of Cozy Mittens and After Midnight. Then I used Ski Lodge to draw some pine trees. The brush I was using was a bit stuff and it happened to make sort of perfect, textured looking branches for the trees!

So here's the thing: I freaking loved this manicure. I was shocked at how simple and easy it was and obviously the holo polish made it sparkle beautifully but I was stoked at the outcome of this little nail adventure!

Welcome to day 3 of Brand Blast for Glam Polish.

Lehua is a berry red subtle holo with green flakies. This was 2 coats, great formula again! Shown with topcoat.

Mermaid for Me (heehee) is blue scattered holo with small blue glitters. Again, two perfect coats with a great formula and topcoat.

Twinsie Tuesday: Grey & Gold

Hey guys!

Nothing To Disclose

Today we are doing Grey and Gold, a combination that I happen to love. Actually, I really enjoy gray and any bright color; it seems so chic to me. Anyway, I set off to create a chic grey and gold manicure and this is what I came up with!

Glam Polish Thwaak! is technically a black linear holo but I mean... you have to have grey to get to black, right? Man, I'm getting really good at cheating at Twinsie Tuesday!! LOL!! This was two perfect (as per usual with Glam Polish) coats. I used a nail vinyl placed randomly on the nail (meaning not straight, but at an angle) and sponged Yeah 3x over Thwaak! I used a coat of topcoat and voila! I quite liked these. I wish the effect had been a little more dramatic but I still liked this subtle gradient!

Brand Blast: Glam Polish Week!

Hey guys!

Nothing To Disclose

First, I want to apologize for my little nub index finger. The homey betrayed the family and she has no excuse.

It's time for another Brand Blast! This time, it's all about Glam Polish. Quickly becoming one of my favorite brands, they deliver stellar formulas and gorgeous colors!

Pop! is coral pink with a strong scattered holo. This was two perfect coats (which is very standard for Glam Polish. I don't think I own one GP that has needed more than 2 coats and the formula's are basically perfection!). Shown with topcoat.

Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo is a matte pastel glitter ix of pink, teal, blue, and purple with assorted shapes and sizes. This was one coat over Pop!, with topcoat.

Respect is medium to dark purple with another strong scattered holo. Again, two perfect coats plus topcoat.

Themed Thursday: Snowman

Hey guys!

Nothing To Disclose

Today is Thursday and that means Themed Thursday! The theme for today is Snowmen so I bring you this adorable little snowmani (ha, get it?!) that I found on Pinterest via Hellogiggles.com.

For my base color, I used Zoya Rowan, from the Transitional collection for 2015. This was two coats and I was actually really surprised at how much I enjoyed this color. It's suede/taupey color and was opaque and even in two coats. I then used Zoya Purity to draw the snowmen bodies and dots and Willa for the eyes, mouth, and arms. Finally, I drew a gold heart using Zoya Ziv.

My snowmen look a little nervous, lol! Still, I think they are super cute and I'm totally digging this neutral color combination!

Zoya Dotticure Featuring Rowan, Ziv, and Purity

Hey guys!

Nothing To Disclose

Today I have a manicure using some pretty but basic but mainly pretty Zoya colors! I pulled out my Satin Zoyas and decided to use Rowan for my base color, a beautiful taupey satin finish. This was 2 coats and the formula on this polish was really nice. Very even and easy to apply.

Then I quickly (and sloppily) dotted Ziv and Purity on all of my nails. Voila. Super easy but I was feeling these simple dots and colors!!

What's your favorite dotticure combination?

Twinsie Tuesday: Shattered Glass

Hey guys!

Nothing To Disclose

Today we are doing Shattered Glass nails. All of the shattered glass nails that I have seen use the iridescent cellophane but I didn't have any of that and remembered to do these nails... umm... kinda late, lol. So I improvised! And unfortunately, all three of the polishes that I used are no longer available. Whoops. I'm sorry.

I started with two coats of Love, Angeline No Dot About It, a white crelly with neon circle and hex glitters. I used her Topped With Love topcoat and let these nails dry for a bit.

Then, using one of Love, Angeline's Herringbone nail vinyls (btw, Love Angeline is discontinuing her nail vinyls and they are some of my favorites so hurry over to her shop to take advantage of her 50% off sale witht he code SOL50!), I used a cosmetic wedge and sponged on Mystery Holo #1 (purple) and #14 (green). I really really REALLY loved these. It's not the exact look I was picturing in my head but i love how they turned out!

Have you done Shattered Glass nails before? Do you like them?

Julie G Pin Up Girl

Hey guys!

Nothing To Disclose

Today I have a quick polish to share with you that came in my Ipsy bag in December: Julie G Pin Up Girl. And you get my awkward right hand because I had some really cool nail art on my left hand, that you will see tomorrow ;-)

This was 2 coats plus topcoat. The polish had a really nice formula, very easy to apply. I have to say that I wouldn't have picked this color, simply because I don't gravitate towards colors like this but it's really really pretty!

KBShimmer Swatches!

Hey guys!

Nothing To Disclose

Today I have a few polishes from KBShimmer to share with you. KBShimmer is one of my favorite indie brands (I actually am planning on doing an entire KBShimmer week soon because I have so many to share with you!). Another thing to mention: KBShimmer has the best punny names for their polishes. I seriously love them.

Fleece Navidad is light grey holographic polish. This had a fantastic formula and was opaque in 2 coats, plus topcoat.

For Fox Sake is a dusty red orange creme polish. This was another perfect 2 coat formula, plus topcoat.

Claws and Effect is a dark purple navy leaning holographic polish. 2 easy coats, plus topcoat.

Sun & Games is gold holographic polish packed with microfine gold glitters. This was 3 coats plus topcoat and this is sooo fabulous and amazing in person.

That's Ore Like It is one of 3 silver flake polishes released from the Summer 2015 collection. This is the Large silver flakie and it can be used as a topper or built up to opacity as I have done here. 3 coats, plus topcoat.

Kind of a Big Dill, also one of my favorite names ever, is a gorgeous forest green jelly with assorted size holo glitters. This was 2 coats (plus topcoat) but I probably should have done 3 for complete opacity but I really don't mind visible nail line. Love love this color!

What's your favorite KBShimmer polish?

New CoverGirl Plumpify Blast Pro & Oh Sugar Lip Balm

Hey guys!

Press Sample
These were sent to me for free from Influenster.

Last month, I received two items from CoverGirl from Influenster; the new Plumpify Blast Pro mascara and one of the new Oh Sugar! lip balms.

The Plumpify Blast Pro mascara has a very large rubberized, spiral brush with a slight ball tip. The box claims 50X more volume and I truly have no idea how they determine these results because I have never used a mascara that delivered that much volume, lol. That being said, I do like this mascara quite a bit. It doesn't flake or transfer on me and it separates my eyelashes but doesn't clump. The only thing i would say is to be a little careful when applying due to the large size of the wand.

The Oh Sugar Balm comes in 10 shades. I have actually purchased 2 of these on my own and was sent the shade Caramel. They are pretty sheer but can be built up a little bit. However, they are very comfortable to wear and have a light to medium lemony scent.

Thus far, I'm impressed! Have you tried any of the new CoverGirl products yet? What are your thoughts?

Themed Thursday: Penguins

Hey guys!

Nothing To Disclose

It's time for another Themed Thursday and this week we are talking penguins. I chose to recreate this manicure by LittleBearCakes.

I started with OPI My Pal Joey for my base color (two coats, this has a really nice formula!), then I dotted Make Light of the Situation on all of my fingers but my ring finger. I used My Boyfriend Scales Walls for the penguin body and dotted Russian Navy Suede for the eyeballs and You're A Pisa Work with a toothpick for his beak and feet.

His beak is a little wonky but I love him! I think he's so cute and I named him Herbert.

Essie Dots, Stripes and Flowers!

Hey guys!

Nothing To Disclose

I am sharing another guest post today! I fail at sharing these on my own blog, lol. Whoops.

I found 5 Essie's that I wanted to use to recreate this manicure from Bad Girl Nails.

I started with Essie Pret-A-Surfer on my pinky and pointer finger, which amazingly covered in one coat. Then I painted 3 coats of Ballet Slippers on my middle finger, and then 2 coats of Coat Couture on my ring finger. After those dried, I dotted Blanc on the index and pinky fingers. THEN I free hand/crookedly drew some lines on the middle finger with Mint Candy Apple and filled in the stripes. Finally.... the flowers with Blanc on the ring finger. Annnnnnd topcoat.

Phew. Catch all that? Let's look at the final product, lol.

I quite liked these! I know they aren't at all seasonally appropriate but I don't even mind because I love this so much! LOL

Twinsie Tuesday: Words

Hey guys!

Press Sample

I was completely stumped for what to do for a Words manicure because I didn't want to attempt to write anything on my nails; I have terrible handwriting. I didn't want to do newspaper nails because then I would have to buy a newspaper, lol. I think I came up with the ultimate cheat!

Nine Zero Lacquer is releasing monthly Limited Edition polishes this year, starting with this gorgeous berry holographic, aptly named January 2016. This covered beautifully in 2 perfect coats. It does dry a bit dull so a topcoat is helpful to really intensify the holo.

Get it? My words are Limited Edition! Haha. I thought it was really clever. I'm probably the only one, lol!!

Londontown Lakur Cloud Manicure

Hey guys!

First of all, today is my mother's birthday so HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM! <3

Secondly, a while back (last fall, actually), I did a guest post for Marisa at PolishThoseNails.com. I realized that I never posted my manicure here so that's what I'm doing today! It's just a simple cloud manicure, but I always like those!

For this cloud manicure, I used three polishes from the brand Londontown Lakur, a new to me brand. I will say that the labels on these bottles have the smallest font ever and it was really hard to read sooooo..... I could only make out two of the three names. Whoops.

I started with 2 coats of Skyline Reflect, a multichrome silver, blue, purple shimmer. Then I added the first layer of clouds using Emerald Tower, a dark green creme. Finally, I added the gold glitter.

Simple but cute, right? Are you a fan of the cloud manicure?

Round 20 Bestie Twin Nails with The Little Canvas

Hey guys!

Nothing To Disclose

It's time for another Bestie Twin Nails with my buddy Alain from The Little Canvas. You know the drill: let's get to the good stuff.

This time, we wanted to do a black and gold NYE festive manicure and I realize it's no longer NYE but who cares, lol. We used this picture by SoNailicious.com for inspiration!

I started with OPI DS Pewter for my base color because I somehow don't own a plain black OPI. Wut? Then I used the brush in the OPI I Cannoli Wear OPI to stripe that color down the middle. using a small striping brush, I painted OPI Glitzerland on the side of I Cannoli Wear OPI. I added topcoat and boom. Done.

I love black and gold together. Why do people do this primarily at the holidays? Ugh, it's so pretttty!!! Now go check out Alaina's nails and leave her a one word comment! I mean it! One word!

Orly 15 Minutes of Fame and Gossip Girl

Hey guys!

Nothing To Disclose

Today I have a quick gradient using the only two Orly polishes I purchased from their Winter collection, Infamous.

15 Minutes of Fame is a pinky red jelly with pink glitter. This was 2 coats.

I dabbed Gossip Girl onto the tips of my nails, using the brush in the bottle. Top coat and done.

I know these are so simple but I never tire of a simple glitter gradient!

Themed Thursday: Snowflakes

Hey guys!

Nothing To Disclose

One of my resolutions for 2016 is to further my nail arting, so my BTN buddy convinced me to join the Themed Thursday prompts that Kelli Marissa (formerly The Nail Polish Challenge) and Wondrously Polished host.

Every Thursday, there is a different prompt, much like we do on Twinsie Tuesday. The first theme is Snowflakes!

To be quite honest, I didn't really want to do Snowflakes because I just did them not too long ago but I wanted to participate so I sucked it up, lol.

I used Glam Polish Zoom! (the blue) which was 2 COMPLETELY PERFECT coats. I used 2 coats of Welcome to the 60's on my ring and middle fingers and then dotted Zoom! in a (sort of) snowflake pattern, lol. I did use two coats of topcoat for Welcome to the 60's, as it was a bit textured.

Color Club Crystal Baller

Hey guys!

Nothing To Disclose

Today I have a fabulous polish from Color Club, Crystal Baller from the Halo Hues 2015 collection. This was the only polish that I purchased from this collection but really... I mean... let's just look at the polish, mmkay.

This was two perfect coats, with no top coat. It's sooo insanely holographic and amazing. I love love love this.

Do you have any of the Halo Hues? They are really fantastic and I need to wear mine more often; they sort of get ignored in my helmer....... well, that is true for a lot of beautiful polishes, whoops! Teehee.

Twinsie Tuesday: Dotticure

Hey guys!

Nothing To Disclose

We're back for Twinsie Tuesday! The break flew by, to be honest, lol. But we're back and easing into it with a simple prompt: dotticure. I knew immediately which manicure I would do, because I JUST saw Sammy from The Nailasaurus do this beautiful and simple dotticure and had to recreate it.

I used Nails Inc Mayfair Lane as my base color, which was not as ideal as I was hoping, to be honest. It was a bit patchy and uneven so I had to do three coats. Then I dotted Hyde Park Place on the tips and randomly up the nail. Topcoat and boom. Done.

Sammy's manicure is infinitely better because her nails are perfect but I actually like the pink and gray combination and goodness knows this is not a typical color scheme for me, so I call it a success! :)

Favorite Nail Polishes of 2015: Day 8!

Hey guys!

Nothing To Disclose

And here we are: the last nail polish favorite of 2015! I hope you enjoyed these posts!

Ellagee Polish Jewel Encrusted is a clear base with a mix of metallic and holo glitter in multiple jewel tones with silver holo and gold holo microglitter. This is a beautiful glitter, but because it is so packed with glitter, it is a bit thick to apply. I applied two coats and then dabbed on extra glitter for any bare spots but sponging the glitter on would probably work best. Regardless, it's beautiful! I also added topcoat, of course. And please believe that this looks so stunning in person; a picture just doesn't capture the sparkle!

Favorite Nail Polishes of 2015: Day 7

Hey guys!

Nothing To Disclose

HOLY MOLY It's a new year. This is always shocking to me how quickly the calendar changes as I get older! Hopefully you had a safe and fun New Year's Celebration!

For today's favorite polish of 2015, we are discussing Frenzy Polish Catching Fireflies, from the Spring 2015 collection.

Catching Fireflies is a dark green base with blue, yellow, orange assorted glitter shapes. It's quite opaque on the first coat but does need two for full opacity. I also added topcoat. This green color is just lovely and I love how the glitter is visible in the base but it's not a jelly polish.
