Twinsie Tuesday: Splatter

Hey guys!

Nothing To Disclose

Today we are tackling the Splatter manicure. As simple as this sounds, I always have a bit of difficulty with this technique. However, I think I sort of figured out a way to do this technique that works for me so let's take a look!!

I started with a base of OPI Aloha from OPI and then splattered Skull and Glossbones and Chic from Ears to Tail. I topped it with My Voice is a Little Norse, which I sort of regretted because it made the manicure a little cloudy but oh well, lol.

I did add topcoat for this picture.

Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Swatches and Review

Hey guys!

Press Sample

I have 4 Sally Hansen Miracle Gel polishes to share with you today! The Sally Hansen Miracle Gel polishes provide long lasting wear without the UV or LED lamp. Simply apply your Miracle Gel color and then the Miracle Gel top coat. The polish is cured by natural light!

Now, these claim to give 14 day wear. I'm going to be very honest guys: the thought of wearing the same color on my nails for 14 days sounds like torture to me so I did not test that claim but I can say that they held up better than most polishes do, at least on me. I constantly have polish chip or peel off after about a day, and these did not do that. I got about 4 days of wear before I just couldn't take it anymore and had to change the color!! LOL!

Also... I was sent 5 colors and took pictures of the first polish and I have no clue where they are. I cannot find them on my computer, phone, camera... I don't know. And since the color was simply a plain light pink, I didn't reswatch. Whoops. Hope you don't hate me.

Life's A Peach is a bright coral pink color, perfect for summer. This was 2 coats and it applied very easily.

Morning, Sunshine! is a nice creamy yellow. This polish was quite thin and streaky, typical of a yellow. I did 4 coats! Not my favorite, although the color is lovely and cheery.

Lip Palm is a leafy green. I used 2 coats.

Swimsical is described as the truest teal but I would call this a blue jelly. 3 coats.

These are fun colors for summer and if you are looking into a long wear polish, these worked well for me. You can purchase Sally Hansen polishes at chain drugstores and mass retailers nationwide.

Bestie Twin Nails with The Little Canvas + A Giveaway!

Hey guys!

Nothing To Disclose

Well folks, it's been a whole year since Alaina at The Little Canvas and I started our monthly Bestie Twin Nails series. I have really enjoyed these posts; it's getting me out of my comfort zone. Now we need to convince Alaina to branch out a bit and try some GLITTER PLACEMENT, AMIRIGHT?! :-p

For this look, we were inspired by Sensationails4U on Instagram. Alaina suggested we do butterflies because my daughter is not the best at saying "butterflies" and used to call them "guggafliesszzhhzh" (it was basically unintelligible, lol).

As always, I used the same brand for my manicure and grabbed some China Glaze polishes for the gradient: Fade Into Hue, Pack Lightly, and Lemon Fizz (purple, peach, yellow). I did an angled gradient and then added a coat of Fairy Dust and then drew my black butterfly lines with WnW Black Creme. The white dots are Salon Perfect Sugar Cube.

Now for the giveaway! There will be two winners, one from my blog and one from Alaina's! Prize number one is from Alaina and it's a mixture of Sally Hansen polishes.

Prize 2 is from me and consists of 2 KBShimmer holos, Men are from Marsala and Up & Cunning, both gorgeous holos. I'm also including an OPI Gwen Stefani 3 pack. You must be 18 years old, US only, and NO GIVEAWAY ACCOUNTS.

Potion Polish Dreaming Of The Islands Collection

Hey guys!

Nothing To Disclose

There's a new indie brand on the block and their name is Potion Polish! They opened in the beginning of June and I am pleased to say that I was their first sale! Whoo! LOL!

I bought the Dreaming of the Islands collection because 1) neon and 2) holo. So duh. There are 7 polishes in the collection so let's get to it. All of the polishes have a strong scattered holograph and were three coats with an easy formula.

Papaya Sunrise is peachy orange crelly.

This picture is a comparison of Papaya Sunrise (index and middle finger) and Electric Bikini (ring and pinky finger), as they are very similar. Unless you were buying the complete set, you probably wouldn't need both, although they are both lovely.

Electric Bikini is a red leaning coral crelly.

Beach Bunny Pink is a Barbie crelly.

Rainbow Orchid is an orchid purple jelly. This color was one of my favorites, it was 2 coats and so beautiful.

Sunlit Palms is a green crelly. I had to really adjust my camera settings for this so that's why my fingers look really orange, lol.

Sparkle Cay is a beautiful aqua jelly. This was another favorite; the color was just beautiful. This was a little sheer after two coats, as you can still see my nail line a bit.

Cerulean Skies is a cerulean blue jelly and let's just be honest: this is my favorite, as if you didn't know :-p This was 2 coats.

I am pretty impressed with this collection, especially for a first collection! The formula's were all very nice and I like that this is a neon collection without being just a neon collection, ya know? Not that I would ever complain about too many neons :-p.

You can check out Potion Polish on their website and follow them on Instagram for sneak peaks of upcoming collections!

Pretty Serious Stop Collaborate And Listen Collection

Hey guys!

Nothing To Disclose

Pretty Serious recently released a trio of collaboration polishes with 3 bloggers and that's what we're looking at tah-day.

Kashmir is dark purple jelly with gold and copper microflakies. This was 3 thin coats and it had a nice formula, no pooling. This was created by Christine of Serenity Nails.

Iktsuarpok was created by Hannah of Polly Polish. This is medium gray with silver flakies. This is quite different and unique and I love it. This was 3 thin coats. And since I had no clue how to pronounce this work, I googled it and thought you would like that info too, lol.

Herald of the Skeleton War was created by Scrangie. This looks like a black based polish but it's a green jelly with purple and green glitter and blue flakies. So so pretty and really different. I used three coats and it was a bit chunky on the 3rd coat due to the flakie glitters. I also used a top coat.

Uhmm yeah. I love Herald of the Skeleton War so much. It's so different, at least from anything I've seen. I love love love itttttt!!

Check out Pretty Serious nail polish. I love all of the PS Cosmetics polishes that I've used <3

Twinsie Tuesday: Shimmer

Hey guys!

Nothing To Disclose

Today we are sharing a shimmer manicure with you, which seems pretty easy compared to some of the other prompts we've faced, lol. I decided to shared 4 polishes in a skittle manicure so let's take a looksie!

The polishes I used are from Baroness X and these are my first from this brand. I love the attention to detail and the cabachon with the polish color on the top of each lid, that must take a LOT of extra time and I appreciate the effort!

From Index to pinky, I used:
Maracaibo
Aphelandra
Tayabak
Ornith-Goliath

I used two coats of each, and three on the pinky (Ornith-Goliath). I like skittle manicures and after photographing and editing these pictures I realized... these are thermal polishes! I had no idea, lol! I'm not usually big on thermal polishes so that feature isn't a game changer for me and I didn't even notice they changed until a full day after applying, lol! All I saw when ordering was the shimmer and flakies and neon! LOL!!

Be sure to check out the other Twinsies shimmer manis!

Colores De Carol Happy Hour Collection

Hey guys!

Nothing To Disclose

Today I have the Happy Hour collection from Colores De Carol. As you might guess by the title, these are named after adult beverages and they all sound delicious and thirst quenching and I wanted all of them, lol.

Most of these were opaque in two coats but for the sake of continuity, I used three coats for all of the swatches, with no top coat. These are all holographic foil polishes, as well.

Pineapple Margarita (HOW DELICIOUS DOES THAT SOUND?!) is a beautiful yellow foil holographic. I love love love this color, it's so unique!

Papaya Sake is a coraly red. It looks like red peppers, doesn't it? So pretty.

Strawberry Bourbon Lemonade is a pinky red. Are we getting thirsty yet? I am.

Sour Grape Bellini is a dark purple, almost blue. I lurve this, no surprise.

Sea Mist Sunrise is a light teal blue.

Mint Mojito is a stinking gorgeous grass green!!

And then we have Silver Cloud Martini, a silver. This was basically amazing so you get two pictures of this polish, lol.

So yeah, these are beautiful and make me thirsty and are also just beautiful. So you should buy them.

Orly Adrenaline Rush

Hey guys!

Nothing To Disclose

Orly is becoming one of my favorite brands in the last year; they are just killing it and this summer collection is no different. I have 4 of the 6 polishes from the collection so let's take a look!

Push the Limit is a bright coral peachy neon that was basically perfection at 2 coats. I. Die.

Be Daring is a fuchsia purple, 2 coats.

Fireball is a bright coral pink with some shimmer. This was 2 coats.

On The Edge is a dark blurple THAT IS ONE FREAKING COAT OHHHHMAHHHH GOSH ARE YOU SERIOUS?! So amazing.

So yeah, I basically love these polishes and if Orly would just keep doing exactly this forever, I will be very excited. All of these polishes had a really great formula and On The Edge was freaking amazing.

Twinsie Tuesday: Blobicure

Hey guys!

Nothing To Disclose

Today we are doing the Blobicure manicure. What's a blobicure, you ask? Well, it's basically when you paint a base color of polish and while that polish is still wet, you touch the brush of a new color onto the original color and make a blob. Yep. A blob.

So I decided to use some pretty colors and tried my Azature Chocolate Diamond and Champagne Diamond, which have been in Mount Polish for quite a while.

I used two coats of Chocolate Diamond with the little blobs of Champagne Diamond over the base. Supah glittery, right? I quite like it!

SinfulColors Having A Blast

Hey guys!

Press Sample

SinfulColors is promoting their Having A Blast collection for 4th of July and I have the polishes to show you today!

Snow Me White is a white creme, with a really nice formula. This was two coats. And clearly I am still getting used to a camera that PICKS UP EVERYTHING so excuse the cuticles and smudge. I am not even joking, it wasn't visible in person, lol!!

Green Ocean is not a new polish but is being repromoted with this collection so I layered one coat over Snow Me White.

Out Of This World is a pinky silver shimmer. This was a little sheer on the first coat but built up nicely after the second. This was two coats.

Star Blast Off is the "star" of the show (bahahaha) so I layered it over Out Of This World and each of the remaining polishes. It had a nice glitter payoff and only a little bit of fishing was required to pull out the stars.

Ruby Ruby is a classic red. This was two coats and it had a really nice, easy formula.

One coat of Star Blast Off.

Hot Spot is a shimmering cobalt blue, 2 coats.

One coat of Star Blast Off.

SinfulColors is available at Walgreens and mass retailers everywhere for $1.99!

Chaos & Crocodiles Once Upon A Unicorn Collection

Hey guys!

Nothing To Disclose

Sooooo this is going to be a very picture heavy post, be prepared!

I recently acquire the C&C Once Upon A Unicorn collection, which is just about perfect. Let's just get right to the pictures, shall we??

Forgotten Paths is a nude linear holographic polish. This was almost opaque in one coat, but I went ahead with two coats. The photos are under my light box, in natural light, and with flash.

City In The Clouds is a gorgeous sky blue linear holographic. Again, almost opaque in one coat, but I used two.

I added the holo topcoat that came with this collection, My Favorite Color Is Unicorn, for even MOAR HOLO GOODNESS!! Umm. dead. I want this topcoat over everything ever for the rest of ever.

Tropical Candy Flowers - 2 coats. Perfect formula. Wut wutttt!

Unicorn Symphony was 2 coats again, with another perfect formula!

Wishing Star Sky was 2 coats. I love this color purple, it's a dark lilac beast of a beauty.

Spun Sugar Magic was another 2 coats of holo perfection.

Uhmm... yeah. Unfortunately, this collection is sold out now and I don't know if there are plans to restock it at any time. I'm sorry!! I KNOW! I'm sorry!! If it does become available again, I would highly recommend it, the formula on all of these was just about perfect and the colors are so beautiful.

You can follow Chaos and Crocodiles on Instagram and visit their website here.
