Nail Nation 3000 Swatches!

Hey guys!

Nothing To Disclose

Today I have two more Nail Nation 3000 polishes to share with you! I will have two more tomorrow, also! Personally, I don't love posts with tons of polishes in each so I try to break them up a bit.

First we have Climaxxx (how saucy), a sort of brassy gold holo. This was 3 thin coats plus topcoat. This had a really great formula, easy to apply.

And here is Big Toby's Holo, which is not on the website anymore, unfortunately. This is a beautiful chartreuse yellow holo. This had a great formula and was very opaque, covering in 2 coats, plus topcoat.

I personally love sort of "ugly" colors like Big Toby's Holo. They are so unique!

Nail Nation 3000 Skinny Dipping In Holo

Hey guys!

Nothing To Disclose

Today I have a new to me brand, Nail Nation 3000! Several months ago, Maria had a 50% off sale as she was switching bottle shapes and that was the perfect time for me to try her brand :)

This is Skinny Dipping in Holo, a gorgeous nude linear holo. It had a really nice formula and this was three thin coats plus topcoat.

Sun shot:

Ott lite:

Uhmmmm yeah. Totally amazing. I have several more Nail Nation 3000 polishes to show you soon, so stay tuned!

What are your favorites from this brand? What are the must haves??

Twinsie Tuesday: Studs or Embellishments

Hey guys!

Nothing To Disclose

Today we are working with studs or embellishments and I decided to be very basic and use my Essie Starry Starry Night for a little galaxy manicure. Now I'm sure you've heard of the debacle surrounding this polish and how it's not a dupe for the original and yadda yadda yadda. My friend Jess sent this to me and I was excited to own it.... and then all of the ruckus started about bad formula's and such and that very much dimmed my excitement. It's been sitting in my nail polish rack for close to a month (if not longer) because I just didn't care to be disappointed lol.

But I was in a pinch for an idea for this prompt and GALAXY NAILS was a super easy look that I could whip up in no time. So here we go:

I applied 2 coats of Essie Starry Starry Night and thankfully, this bottle had a typical jelly glitter formula. It was not thick or troublesome at all! I was so happy with that result! Then I added some star rhinestones from Born Pretty Store (you can use code FEL91 for 10% off your order) in random patterns or placement on my nails and voila. Simple galaxy nails.

Colors by Llarowe Chasing A Unicorn

Hey guys!

Nothing To Disclose

Today I have a Unicorn polish to share with you, a white holo polish. A true white holographic polish is very difficult to find, as most holographic pigment changes the color to a grayish hue, thereby making the white holo unattainable.

Colors by Llarowe recently released the Chasing A Unicorn duo, the base color is to be used as a color correcting base and the holo topper creates the illusive white holo.

I applied two coats of the base coat, as it needed to be leveled out a bit with the second coat. Then I applied one coat of Chasing A Unicorn and boy. I was not really expecting this to be as white and fabulous as it turned out. It's really really stunning.

Have you searched for the illusive white holographic polish? What do you think of this beauty?

Cupcake Polish Unicorn Collection

Hey guys!

Nothing To Disclose

Today I have the Cupcake Polish Unicorn collection to share with you! I was really surprised by these polishes and their opacity! I was fully expecting to have to build these up but they were all opaque in 2 coats (with the exception of one).

Wish is pink holo micro glitter polish. This was two coats with an easy formula, plus topcoat.

Believe is a medium purple holo micro glitter. Again, 2 coats, plus topcoat.

Dream is medium blue holo micro glitter. 2 coats, plus topcoat.

Imagine is an aquamarine micro glitter. 2 coats, plus topcoat.

Magic is a lime green micro glitter. 2.5 coats, plus topcoat.

So these are pretty amazing and I highly recommend them! They are available now!

Painted Polish Swatches

Hey guys!

Nothing To Disclose

I have some Painted Polish by Lexi polishes to share with you today. I'm ashamed to admit that these have been sitting in my untried rack for months and months and have gone untouched but no more. Let's get to it, shall we?

First is Blinded by Bubbly, a bright champagne gold linear holo glitter. Most of these glitters are best applied by sponging on for better opacity but I didn't do that because it was late at night and I wasn't thinking clearly, lol!! This was 3.5 coats, plus topcoat.

Hey Sailor! is a turquoise based holo glitter. This was 3 coats, plus topcoat.

Mermaid Sighting is a green and blue micro holo glitter. This was 3 coats plus topcoat.

Enchantress is a flakie, multichrome, holo, glitter polish packed with all sorts of goodness. This was 2.5 coats plus topcoat.

Painted Pines is a remarkable pine green with holo glitter. This was 3 coats plus topcoat.

What's your favorite Painted Polish color?

Bestie Twin Nails with The Little Canvas Round 21! Arrows!

Hey guys!

Nothing To Disclose

It's time again for a Bestie Twin Nails with The Little Canvas! This time, we were inspired by Paulina's Passions and her fabulous arrow manicure, as I made Alaina start watching the tv show Arrow and now she's hooked ;)

I grabbed some of my Virago Varnish polishes for this mani and got to work. I used Bloody Mary, a very very dark red burgundy creme. I did two coats so it appeared as dark as possible. Then I used 2 coats of Crave, which is opaque in 1 coat! Amazing.

Next I applied two coats of Don't Turn On The Light, a stunning dark teal holo glitter. For the arrows, I used Bloody Mary and Scandalous. My arrows are really wonky but I can't seem to find a small enough detail brush for things like this. What's your fave detail brush??

I definitely need to practice my detail work but I like this manicure! Also, if you don't watch Arrow, you should. It's pretty awesome :)

Twinsie Tuesday: Coffee Inspired

Hey guys!

Nothing To Disclose

For Coffee Inspired, I pulled out Too Fancy Lacquer Chocolate Gold, because for coffee drinkers, coffee may as well be liquid gold, lol. This is a gorgeous antique bronze linear holo, with a spectacular formula that covered in 2 perfect coats. I recently decluttered my nail art drawer and found some supplies that I had forgotten that I owned and pulled out some GOSH Nail Art Glitter in Gold. Holo isn't enough so I needed some finely milled glitter on the nail, ya know? 😂I dipped my finger in the loose glitter and wanted to see what would happen if I added topcoat. Several coats would be needed to erase the fine glitter texture but I only used one.

Sanchez Says... Tea Party Nails

Hey guys!

Nothing To Disclose

Today I am starting a new series on the blog called Sanchez Says...

What is this, you ask? I'm here to tell you. My friend Sanchez recently asked me if I had some manicures that fell into certain categories and by some, I mean she asked for about 15 different topics/themes, etc., lol. As you know, I am trying to expound on my nail art techniques and practice so I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to hold myself accountable and also try some techniques and art that I wouldn't normally (because I literally groaned at one of the suggestions, lol!!)

I started with one of my favorite suggestions: Tea Party Nails. After a quick search, I came across these nails and they were so cute, I didn't even keep looking for others.

The polishes used: (All Zoya)
- Wednesday
- Purity
- Lidia
- Odette
- Logan

I applied 2 coats of Wednesday, the gorgeous minty blueish green, to all of my nails except for the pinky nail, which was the recipient of Odette, a lovely dusty purple color.

Then I used some large dot nail vinyls and some stripe vinyls on my index and ring fingers and applied Purity over those, and then removed the nail vinyl before the polish could dry. I'm still working on getting super crisp lines in this aspect of nail art and you wouldn't think it is that difficult but for me, it's a challenge!

Orly Rage and Pink Week!

Hey guys!

Nothing To Disclose

For the last day of Pink Week, I wanted to recreate this look using some of my favorite Orly polishes.

I don't get nail vinyls with multiple layers. It doesn't help that I do my nails at night and am just not awake enough to comprehend things like... layering and stuff.

The polishes that I used: (all from Orly)
Decades of Dysfunction
Rage
Mirrorball

The heart looks terrible but I don't have a white Orly and you know how I am about using the same brand for my nail art, lol! But ultimately I do like this look and I LOVE Rage and Mirrorball together. Soooo pretty!

Did you enjoy a full week of nail art?? I feel so proud that I complete an entire week with a little bit of nail art in each post! Whoo!

What's your plan for Valentine's Day nails?

OPI Stripes & Pink Week!

Hey guys!

Nothing To Disclose

Today's Pink post is going to be a recreation of a manicure that the incomparable Sarah from Chalkboard Nails created. Seriously, her nails and her designs are perfect. Mine are definitely not, lol.

The polishes I used were:
OPI You're So Vain-illa (3 coats and kind of streaky. Womp)
Mod About You
La Paz-itively Hot
Over & Over A-Gwen

I simply used a striping brush to draw the dots and a little dotting tool for the heart. I wish I had used a less beige base but oh well, right?

Zoya Heart Manicure & Pink Week

Hey guys!

Nothing To Disclose

For Pink/Heart/Love Week today, I'm doing this manicure inspired by this Pinterest link.

I used Zoya Chyna, one of the original Pixie Dusts, on my index and pinky fingers. Then Zoya Purity on the middle and ring fingers. Pepper, Tart and DOve were used for the red and pink hearts and gray dots.

Twinsie Tuesday: Romantic

Hey guys!

Nothing To Disclose

Today we are doing Romantic Manicures. I recently purchased one of the new Wet n Wild 1 Step Wonder Gel polishes in Stay Classy and thought that would be the perfect base for this prompt. This is a really pretty mauve color. I am consistently impressed with Wet n Wild polishes, they are opaque in 2 coats and have really great formula's. The 'gel' technology doesn't really matter to me so I didn't test this for wear time but I love the color!

Then I added a heart spiraly nail vinyl and another WnW Megalast in Haze of Love (which I didn't realize until typing this up, lol. How fitting!)

Whatchu think?

China Glaze & Pink Week!

Hey guys!

Nothing To Disclose

I've decided to do a whole weeks worth of heart themed nail art because I want to expand my nail art practices this year. So get ready for Pink Week or Love Week or Heart Week or whatever you want to call it, lol.

Let's start with this manicure from Pinterest. I used China Glaze Pinking Out the Window, Salon Perfect Sugar Cube, and China Glaze Dancing and Prancing.
The heart is not perfect but it's super cute, right? I love Pinking Out the Window, it's such a pretty coral pink!

Wet n Wild 1 Step Wonder Gel Cyantific Method

Hey guys!

Nothing To Disclose

I recently purchased one of the new Wet n Wild 1 Step Wonder Gel polishes (you will see that next week) and liked it so much that I bought 2 more! One of the polishes I bought the second time around is this baby, Cyantific Method (haha that name cracks me up!) This was 2 coats, without topcoat. These polishes are super shiny and so far I am so impressed with the two colors that I've tried so far.

Have you tried the new Wet n Wild 1 Step Wonder Gel polishes?? If so, what colors have you tried??

Fair Maiden Neon Gradient

Hey guys!

Nothing To Disclose

So I know that it's only February but I'm basically over winter and am ready for brights! I busted out my Fair Maiden Polishes that have been sitting on my nail rack, staring at me for months and decided to put them to use with a vertical gradient.

I did use a white base, Sally Hansen OMGhost. Then I used a cosmetic wedge to sponge on the polishes:

Don't By Shy (pink)
Reach For The Sky (purple)
Let's Get Physical (blue)
Aim To Misbehave (Lime Green)
Daredevil (Orange)

Then I added Fairy Godmother over the top because duh... holo.

Unfortunately I had zero sun to showcase this beautiful manicure and the ott-lite is what we have to work with for now. But you know it's neon and you know it's fabulous so trust me :)

Are you ready for neons? OR do you think I'm crazy and too early for this color season? LOL

Zoya Kelly

Hey guys!

Nothing To Disclose

I have a quick post today to show off Zoya Kelly is a dark gray polish with blue and purple undertones. I was feeling like a simple gray color and Zoya Kelly was the answer. This had a great formula and was opaque in two coats. Shown with topcoat.

For as simple as this color is, I don't own a lot of gray polish and sometimes a plain gray polish is just what I need :)

Twinsie Tuesday: Mix & Match

Hey guys!

Nothing To Disclose

Today is Mix and Match day for Twinsie Tuesday and I didn't really know what I wanted to accomplish with this manicure so I just sort of started playing and this is what happened, lol.

I started with one coat (ONE COAT) of OPI Push & Shove, which I had somehow never used until tonight. Crazy silver chrome polish but I should have used a ridge filling base coat. Oh well, that's where OPI's Black Cherry Chutney came in. I used some various nail vinyls on my index and ring fingers and did a random dotticure on my middle finger. Then I painted one coat of Black Cherry Chutney on my pinky and went in with Push & Shove for a dry brush nail, another technique that I have never done but is so easy and cool and why am I wasting my time NOT doing this technique?!

Be sure to check out the other Twinsies Mix & Match manis!

Nine Zero Lacquer February 2016

Hey guys!

Press Sample

It's a new month and that means a new polish from Nine Zero Lacquer. How do you feel about Polish of the Month situations? I kind of love them because I don't always want a new collection all of the time but a single polish is enough to tide me over for a bit, lol!

February 2016 is a gorgeous periwinkle, almost cornflower blue linear holo. As I've come to expect from Nine Zero, it has a perfect formula and was opaque in two coats. I added one coat of Love, Angeline Topped with Love topcoat.

This is available for purchase now at ninezerolacquer.com for $11 and will be available only for the month of February!
