Penny Bloom Summer Daze Collection!

Hey guys!

Press Sample

Long time no talk, eh? I am still on a little break from blogging but am going to get back to it slowly but surely. What better way to ease back into posting than with a beautiful summer creme collection from Penny Bloom? Formerly Nayll, Penny Bloom Polish offers custom polishes that you create right on the website and also their own line of beautiful creations, which is what we will be looking at today!

The Summer Daze collection releases on June 21st, the first day of summer, and is a 10 piece creme collection inspired by the long hot days of summer (my favorite)! The polishes retail for $10 each or you can purchase the entire collection for $90!

All swatches are shown with topcoat.

Dog Days is a light tan creme. This was 3 coats. As you can see, there was some pigment that didn't get mixed up all the way in the bottle but it didn't affect the polish when applying it to the nail.

Self-Tanner is a mid tone brown. This was almost a jelly type of creme and needed 3 coats.

Morning Light is a beautiful bright yellow, again 3 coats.

Solar Ray is a bright orange creme. This was the tiniest bit thick but not unmanageable at all. 3 coats.

Summer Night is a lovely pink, 2 coats.

Bikini Days is a light blue creme. This was 2 easy coats.

Ocean Deep is a medium blue creme, covering nicely in two coats.

Blue Lagoon, a gorgeous dusty teal and opaque in 2 coats.

Greenscape is a nice kiwi green and covered in 2 coats.

Finally, Smoothie is a deep green and covered in 2 coats.

Sara was also kind enough to give you a discount code for 20% off your entire order! Just use code FSHNFTG20 and voila! There's your discount!

Remember, this collection will be available in one week, on June 21st! Which shades are you going to be getting?? Don't forget that you can also create your own custom polishes on the Penny Bloom site. I've done it before the rebrand and just a few weeks ago and I LOVE how the polishes came out! Swatches of those will be coming soon!

Bestie Twin Nails with The Little Canvas Round 21! Arrows!

Hey guys!

Nothing To Disclose

It's time again for a Bestie Twin Nails with The Little Canvas! This time, we were inspired by Paulina's Passions and her fabulous arrow manicure, as I made Alaina start watching the tv show Arrow and now she's hooked ;)

I grabbed some of my Virago Varnish polishes for this mani and got to work. I used Bloody Mary, a very very dark red burgundy creme. I did two coats so it appeared as dark as possible. Then I used 2 coats of Crave, which is opaque in 1 coat! Amazing.

Next I applied two coats of Don't Turn On The Light, a stunning dark teal holo glitter. For the arrows, I used Bloody Mary and Scandalous. My arrows are really wonky but I can't seem to find a small enough detail brush for things like this. What's your fave detail brush??

I definitely need to practice my detail work but I like this manicure! Also, if you don't watch Arrow, you should. It's pretty awesome :)

NYC Peel Off Base Coat - Review!

Hey guys!

Press Sample

Today I have a sort of different review for you, though still nail related. NYC recently released a Peel Off Base Coat that turns any polish into a peel-able polish. This is perfect for glitters, as we all know what a pain they to remove!

I tested this with Ellagee's Jewel Encrusted, which is a multi-colored glitter with micro gold holographic glitter. I did three coats for opacity, plus two coats of topcoat.

The next day, I attempted to remove the glitter by gently picking at the edges and voila! Off came the polish! Most nails peeled off in one sheet, although as you can see a few came off in pieces.

And after the peeling! Not a speck of glitter polish left! Wow!!

I was very impressed with with this peel off base coat. I wouldn't recommend it for a manicure you want to last for several days, as it did peel off quite easily after the one day. Since I change my nails just about every day, it worked really well for me!

The Peel Off Base Coat retails for $2.99 and is available at mass retailers nationwide.

Sweet Heart Polish New World Collection

Hey guys!

Nothing To Disclose

Today I have the Sweet Heart Polish New World collection to share with you. This collection consists of 5 linear holographic polishes, based on Disney's Aladdin movie, one of my favorites :-)

By Order Of The Princess is a minty green - 2 coats. The holo on this wasn't as strong, but I should have done three coats, in retrospect. It is a beautiful color!

Cave of Wonders - 3 coats. A beautiful gold holograph polish.

Do You Trust Me? - 2 coats

Sultan Abu - 2 coats

Poof! What Do Ya Need? - 2 coats

Guess which was my favorite? LOL I love Poof! What Do You Need? And Sultan Abu but I really like the collection as a whole; it's very Aladdin, don't you think?

The formula on all of these polishes was really great, they didn't pool at all and were in no way patchy. Whoo!

You an purchase Sweet Heart Polish on her Etsy Shop Here.

The GITD shot is pretty awesome. This has a great glow to it! I was impressed! :-)

Stardust Polish Classy Chassis, Ginned Up, & In Cahoots

Hey guys!

Nothing To Disclose Press Sample

Today I have three polishes from Stardust Polish to share with you! Now, you see those buttons up top that disclose how I paid for or received things? Well, I'm not sure how to disclose these so I'll just type it out: I swapped for them! I was able to meet up with Drema from Stardust Polish and we swapped some polish for some of my nail polish jewelry! I felt like a pioneer :-p Anyway, I just wanted to let that be known so I could be honest and transparent about how these were acquired!

These three polishes are a slight texture and super extra gorgeous!! First is Classy Chassis, a dark red jelly with glitter. This was three coats and one coat of top coat. The second picture shows two coats of topcoat.

Ginned Up is a dark berry colored jelly. Again, this was 3 coats and two coats of topcoat.

In Cahoots is an emerald green jelly. Three coats, and two coats of top coat. Ugh, this is so pretty that I can't even stand it!

Well these are basically perfect "Amanda" colors: deep, jelly, glitters, and soooo shiny with topcoat!

You can purchase Stardust Polish here!

Indigo Bananas Swatches

Hey guys!

Today's polishes are provided for your viewing pleasure via a swap package I received a few weeks ago. These are my first Indigo Bananas polishes so I was very excited to try them out!

First, Wise Up, Janet! An orchid purple polish that is a bit confusing: it's sort of metallic, holo, glitter, and foily all at the same time!! This was two coats.

And second is Do You Have A Flag?, a silver polish with the same confusing base, lol. This was two coats and you can still see some VNL but that doesn't really bother me.

These polishes were a little bit thick, so I would recommend waiting longer in between coats. But I'm Miss Impatient Pants and pretty much never heed my own advice :-p

What are your favorite Indigo Bananas polishes??

April Operation: Helmer Results!

Hey guys!

I think I got confused with this month's brand... the first half was China Glaze and the second half was Zoya! LOL I think I was supposed to do Zoya all month. Whoops. Oh well!

The first manicure I did was using China Glaze Thistle Do Nicely with Lumina Lacquer Mucking Rainbow. Let me just say that Thistle Do Nicely is much brighter in person.. it is searingly bright! It made my pale hands look super tan, lol! The formula was a bit thin, I should have done 3 coats but it was 10pm and I wanted to go to bed so I just did 2 coats.

Next was NOPI Goodbye Shoes and China Glaze What A Pansy with LynBDesigns Tear Away Face and Liquid Afterglow Lacquer Frog Charm.

After that, I decided that I needed to do a rainbow manicure so I used
Purity
Pippa
Thandie
LC
Caitlin
Demi
Rocky
Wednesday
Evvie
Tao
with Glimmer over all the colors.

And finally, a purple ombre manicure, using:
Megan
Lotus
Aurora (also on thumb)
Mimi

So, not a smashing success this month but better than I did in March! LOL

Next month is OPI and my untrieds bin!
