Illamasqua Swatches

Hey guys!

Nothing To Disclose

I have some more Illamasqua polishes to share with you today! This is the rest of the batch that I purchased from Hautelook a while back. And wouldn't you know it, Illamasqua is on Hautelook again today, starting at 11am EST. (That link is my referral link, just FYI). So let's get to it.

Swinger is a gold foil polish. This had a nice formula, I used two coats.

Raindrops is one of the most famous Illamasqua polishes. I believe it was released and then discontinued and then brought back? I'm not certain. It's a nice blue toned gray with silver flakies. This was two coats.

Marquise is a orange toned red with gold foil shimmer. This is the sort of bright red orange color that I like and the shimmer is a bonus! 2 coats.

Peruzzi is a true yellow gold glitter, it almost looks green but in person, it was straight up yellow gold. I love this and it was one coat! Yep, you read that correctly. Opaque glitter in one coat. Huzzah!

You cannot purchase Illamasqua in the US, as far as I know, but they are on Hautelook every so often  (ahem, TODAY!) and if you have a foreign polish friend who can grab them for you, I would recommend trying some!

Nothing To Disclose

I found a few more Ginger & Liz polishes in the clearance section at Ulta and this color called to me. This is Sam-Poole Sale, a dirty olive green color. It was a bit sheer, I used 3 coats but it's very shiny and glossehhh!

Have you tried Ginger & Liz polishes yet?

Twinsie Tuesday: Match Your Nails To Your Car

Hey guys!

Nothing To Disclose

Today we are matching our nails to our cars. The official color of my car is "Metallic Blue Ink" but I don't think that I have a nail polish that exactly matches it so I went with the color that I always think my car is in my head. Ya know how you envision some things to be just a little bit different than they actually are once you really study them? That's how I am with my car. I imagine it to sparkle a little more than it might in person, shocking, I know!

Unfortunately, the polish and brand are no longer available. That brand is Maya Cosmetics. I never had a lot of experience with the brand but was able to purchase a few polishes from her liquidation sale.

Stargazing is a dark navy crelly with silver microglitters. I used 3 thin coats, with no top coat.

This is a beautiful color and the formula was very nice. It's a shame Maya Cosmetics isn't around any longer because she had some lovely polishes!

Be sure to check out the other Twinsies Car Manicures!

So this was the Christmas collection from Lac Attack. Yep. It's almost May and I am just now wearing these beautiful polishes. Shame on me!! I am throwing in a polish from the Fierce Special Effects collection because I can :-p

Let's start with the namesake of the collection, Festivus: this is a green, purple and blue shifting polish. I layered two coats over Ginger & Liz Sam-Poole Sale. I love this and I'm not usually one for

Daring (from the Fierce Special Effects collection) is a silver shard polish in a clear base. I used 2 coats over Milani Lovely Amethyst.

Merry & Bright is a lavender, pink, white, and pale yellow matte glitter in a clear base. Lac Attack does some awesome matte micro glitters and this is no exception!

The Lac Attack shop is on vacation right now but hopefully she will be opening up again sooooonnn!!

NYC Peel Off Base Coat - Review!

Hey guys!

Press Sample

Today I have a sort of different review for you, though still nail related. NYC recently released a Peel Off Base Coat that turns any polish into a peel-able polish. This is perfect for glitters, as we all know what a pain they to remove!

I tested this with Ellagee's Jewel Encrusted, which is a multi-colored glitter with micro gold holographic glitter. I did three coats for opacity, plus two coats of topcoat.

The next day, I attempted to remove the glitter by gently picking at the edges and voila! Off came the polish! Most nails peeled off in one sheet, although as you can see a few came off in pieces.

And after the peeling! Not a speck of glitter polish left! Wow!!

I was very impressed with with this peel off base coat. I wouldn't recommend it for a manicure you want to last for several days, as it did peel off quite easily after the one day. Since I change my nails just about every day, it worked really well for me!

The Peel Off Base Coat retails for $2.99 and is available at mass retailers nationwide.

Twinsie Tuesday: Scented Polish - Fangirl Polish Review!

Hey guys!

 Press Sample
I purchased these polishes using a blogger discount.

Today for Twinsie Tuesday I have a two-fer: a review and a post!

Fangirl Polish recently released a scented trio and it was is so perfect because I did not own scented nail polish prior to these babies!

The Sweet Tooth Trio is made up of three deliciously scented polishes so let's take a look!

Pink-a-licious is a bright pink with tiny micro glitters. This was two coats, shown without and with topcoat, as this one dries a bit matte. This smells like bubblegum and it. is. heavenly.

Da-Bomb is a brown jelly with yellow, blue, lime green, pink assorted hex shaped glitters. This was 3 coats and I sort of blobbed the second and third coats on, to maximize glitter payoff. This baby smells like chocolate. Ohhh yeah!

Finally, Grapety Grape is a purple jelly with silver hexes and blue micro glitters. This was 2 coats and IT SMELLS LIKE GRAPE WHICH IS MY FAVORITE FLAVOR OF EVERYTHING IN LIFE EVER! This formula was a smidge thicker, partially due to the plethora of glitters as I didn't have to do any sort of fishing for extra glitter.

The Sweet Tooth Trio is currently sold out but check out Fangirl Polish's Instagram for updates and upcoming releases!

And go check out the rest of the twinsies scented nails!

NYC City Proof 24 Hr Eye Crayons

Hey guys!

Press Sample

Fun fact: today is my birthday!! Whoo! Happy birthday to me! Haha.

Today I bring you a review of the new NYC City Proof 24hr Eyeshadow crayons. These claim to be waterproof and last for 24 hours. I'm not even going to pretend that I tested these for 24 hours, lol. I'm an old lady now, I never wear makeup for that long! :-p

There are 12 shades in the line and I have 8 to share with you! Let's get to it! These are a twist up crayon product with clear plastic lids. The lids click on so you know they won't get dislodged. As you can see, the color of the shadow is the color of the barrel.

I swatched all of these with no primer, and all the swatches are one swipe of color, with one exception. They are nicely pigmented!

Brooklyn Mocha, Murray Hill Champagne Rockefeller Center Snowflakes, Empire State Building.

New York At Night, Central Park Tulips (two swipes to build color), East River Romance, Madison Square Park.

These do set fairly quickly so I would recommend putting the color exactly where you want, as there is little time for blending.

For this look, I used Madison Square Park and some Milani eyeshadows:
- Milani Eye Primer
- NYC Madison Square Park
- Milani Bella Taupe
- Milani Bella Ivory
- Milani Belly Diamond
- Kat Von D Autograph Eyeliner
- Mally Volumizing Mascara
- Milani Coral Cove blush
- Milani Matte Naked lipstick

I love green eyeshadow so I very excited to see this beautiful green shadow stick in the press samples that I received! Upon swatching all of the colors, I am very happy with how they all look and cannot wait to use these for more looks! They will be great liners as well, for those days in the summer that I just want to do something quick but still have some color on my lids.

You can purchase NYC cosmetics at chain drugstores and mass merchandisers nationwide and these retail for $2.99 each (MSRP).

Milani Lovely Amethyst & Ultra Violet

Hey guys!

Nothing To Disclose

Milani Lovely Amethyst is a light purple metallic polish. I used two coats here and due to the finish, it's a bit brush strokey.

Ultra Violet is a dark fuchsia polish with a little bit of shimmer throughout. This was 2 easy coats.

Milani is available online and at various retailers.

Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Swatches & Review

Hey guys!

Press Sample

I have some Sally Hansen Insta-Dri polishes to share with you today! The Insta-Dri line is

Orange Zest is a bright orange creme. Now, this was not completely opaque in two coats, as you can see a few patches on my index and middle finger.

Cocoa A Go Go is a beautiful bronze shimmer. I could have gotten away with one coat of this but I did two out of habit :-)

Cherry Fast is a fuchsia creme. Two coats.

Plummet is a dark royal purple creme. Again, 2 coats.

Re-teal Therapy is a teal creme polish, two coats.

Navy Fleet is a dark navy creme, 2 coats.

These all had really great formula's, as can be expected from the Sally Hansen Nail polish and Insta-Dri line. All were two coats and with the exception of the Orange Zest polish, all could have been one coat and been opaque at one coat.

Sally Hansen can be purchased at Target, Walmart, Kmart, Rite Aid, Walgreens, and retailers nationwide.

Sally Hansen Luxe Lace Glitters - Swatches and Review!

Hey guys!

Press Sample

I have more Sally Hansen polishes to show you today! These are the Luxe Lace glitters, inspired by lace fabric! I layered these over the Velvet Textures polishes I reviewed earlier this week :-)

First, Intimate over Lush. This is a light pink and white glitter with assorted shaped hexes and was easily applied with one coat. I did fish around for the large hexes but they were fairly easily fished out.

Next is Eyelet over Crushed. This is a white assorted shaped glitter. Very dainty and feminine!

Crochet over Deluxe. Crochet is a blue and white assorted shaped glitter. One coat, dabbed.

Finally, Ruffle ove Regal. Ruffle is a black assorted glitter shaped topper. This was one coat.

While these aren't very flashy glitters, they are feminine and pretty. I think these will be perfect for people who don't LOVE in your face glitter, although I'm not sure I want to be involved with anyone who doesn't love flashy glitters!! LOL LOL Just kidding!!

You can purchase Sally Hansen at Walmart, Kmart, Target, Rite Aid, Walgreens and retailers nationwide.

Twinsie Tuesday: Watercolor Nails

Hey guys!

Nothing To Disclose

Watercolor nails! I think I cheated at used jellies but I won't tell if you won't :-p

I used Creative Cuticles Nail Polish jellies for this manicure over a base of OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls. I followed Sammy's tutorial for this look, except that mine is not anywhere nearly as lovely, ha!

I actually can't remember which order I applied the polishes but I used Kass, Tammy, Amanda, and Amy from CCNP. These were perfect for this manicure! I topped it off with a coat of INM Northern Lights, because... duh. sparkle.

What are the other Twinsies up to this week?? Let's go find out!

Sally Hansen Velvet Textures - Swatches and Review!

Hey guys!

Press Sample

I have 4 new Sally Hansen polishes to share with you today, from their new Velvet Textures line! I was lucky enough to receive a lovely box of polish from Sally Hansen so expect several Sally posts this week :-)

These are matte textures with no glitter but the texture is very minimal, so it does appear that you have velvety nails!

First up is Lush. This is a medium grayish brown polish. I used two coats here. These dry relatively quickly, which is always nice.

Next is Crushed, a fuchsia berry color. Again, two coats.

Deluxe is a really really really dark blue, that basically looks black, lol. Again, 2 coats.

Finally, Regal, a gorgeous cobalt blue. Shocker, this is my favorite :-)

All of these polishes had really great formulas and I barely had to clean up at all. All of the polishes were two coats.

You can purchase Sally Hansen polishes at Target, Ulta, Kmart, CVS, Walmart, and other retailers nationwide.
