Penny Bloom Summer Daze Collection!

Hey guys!

Press Sample

Long time no talk, eh? I am still on a little break from blogging but am going to get back to it slowly but surely. What better way to ease back into posting than with a beautiful summer creme collection from Penny Bloom? Formerly Nayll, Penny Bloom Polish offers custom polishes that you create right on the website and also their own line of beautiful creations, which is what we will be looking at today!

The Summer Daze collection releases on June 21st, the first day of summer, and is a 10 piece creme collection inspired by the long hot days of summer (my favorite)! The polishes retail for $10 each or you can purchase the entire collection for $90!

All swatches are shown with topcoat.

Dog Days is a light tan creme. This was 3 coats. As you can see, there was some pigment that didn't get mixed up all the way in the bottle but it didn't affect the polish when applying it to the nail.

Self-Tanner is a mid tone brown. This was almost a jelly type of creme and needed 3 coats.

Morning Light is a beautiful bright yellow, again 3 coats.

Solar Ray is a bright orange creme. This was the tiniest bit thick but not unmanageable at all. 3 coats.

Summer Night is a lovely pink, 2 coats.

Bikini Days is a light blue creme. This was 2 easy coats.

Ocean Deep is a medium blue creme, covering nicely in two coats.

Blue Lagoon, a gorgeous dusty teal and opaque in 2 coats.

Greenscape is a nice kiwi green and covered in 2 coats.

Finally, Smoothie is a deep green and covered in 2 coats.

Sara was also kind enough to give you a discount code for 20% off your entire order! Just use code FSHNFTG20 and voila! There's your discount!

Remember, this collection will be available in one week, on June 21st! Which shades are you going to be getting?? Don't forget that you can also create your own custom polishes on the Penny Bloom site. I've done it before the rebrand and just a few weeks ago and I LOVE how the polishes came out! Swatches of those will be coming soon!

Talk to you soon!

Sally Hansen Color Therapy Swatches!

Hey guys!

Press Sample

Today I have 6 (plus one that I purchased, so 7!) of the new Sally Hansen Color Therapy polishes! There are some lovely colors in this post so let's get to them!

Sally Hansen continues to lead in innovation by introducing its new Color Therapy products:  a nail polish, top coat, and nail & cuticle oil, inspired by women’s desire to wear beautiful color while simultaneously caring for their nails. Sally Hansen’s Color Therapy nail polish contains a patented micro-delivery system that delivers an argan oil-enriched formula, resulting in intensive nourishment and instant moisture for healthier-looking nails. The Color Therapy nail polish needs no base coat so the oil complex can directly contact the bare nail. 9 out of 10 women experienced a noticeable improvement in their natural nails after wearing the Color Therapy nail polish. Vibrant tones, available in three magnificent palettes, glide on for a radiant, shiny finish with up to 10 days of fade-proof, chip-resistant wear. The Color Therapy nail polish provides the ultimate color that cares while you wear, with everything needed to restore nails without sacrificing luminous color.

Complete your manicure with the Color Therapy top coat and nail & cuticle oil, both formulated with the same argan oil contained in the nail polish. The top coat provides an ultra-glossy finish for extended wear, and the nail & cuticle oil, the ultimate in nail therapy, instantly makes nails and cuticles look healthier, restored, and rejuvenated.

The Ingredient Story

Color Therapy blends a complex of natural argan, acai, and evening primrose oil to condition weak, dry nails. Argan oil contains high levels of unsaturated fatty acids, as well as vitamin E, an antioxidant vital for healthy skin and nails. Acai berry oil is rich in omega-3, 6, and 9 essential fatty acids that are valued for nutrition and conditioning in skin and hair care. Evening primrose oil features essential fatty acids that are known to help reinforce hair strength.

Mauve Mantra is a carnation pink with subtle gold shimmer. This swatch is two coats. I'm not usually the biggest pink polish lover but I liked this! The shimmer is more noticeable than anticipated and it really pairs nicely with the pink.

Robes and Rosé is a metallic fuchsia. This is more my kind of pink polish! Shown here in 2 coats.

Unwine-d is a gorgeous wine red creme. This was a little thin and required 3 coats but I do love a deep red polish every now and then!

Therpewter is a slightly blackened pewter metallic. This had a great formula and was surprisingly opaque in 2 coats.

Bamboost is a lovely dark khaki creme. This was also a bit thin and needed 3 coats for opacity.

Ja-cozy is a cobalt blue creme, which you know is always my favorite! This was 2 coats!

I purchased one of the Color Therapy polishes myself, Slicks and Stones. A deep purple with purple and pink and blue shimmers definitely gives the effect of an oil slick. This was 2 coats.

Have you tried the Color Therapy polishes yet? I only swatched these so I cannot attest to the moisturizing claims; however, the colors and formula's were nice and I will keep wearing these!

Press Sample

Today I have two Sally Hansen Miracle Gel polishes to share with you.

Blacky-O is a black creme. This is pretty standard, and covered in two coats.

Tribal sun is orange and for some reason it is pulling very red orange in these pictures!! I have no idea why!! This was 2 coats, but it definitley could have benefited from a 3rd coat.

Have you tried the Sally Hansen Miracle Gel line yet?

Nine Zero Halloween Collection!

Hey guys!

Press Sample

Today I have the Nine Zero Lacquer Halloween collection to share with you! Yeah yeah yeah, I know that Halloween is in one day but I have confirmed with Jess that these will be around for a bit so you can still purchase!

Tricks No Treats is a while crelly with purple, green, and orange matte shards. This was 2 coats, plus topcoat. I would recommend setting the bottle upside down for a minute to let some of the glitters sink to the top (which sounds very weird to write out, ha!)

Jack-O-Lantern Juice is an orange jelly with matte black shards. This was 2 coats, plus topcoat. A second coat of topcoat might be needed to completely smooth out some of those shards.

Cauldron Fire is a black jelly with orange holographic glitters. This is quite stunning and about 50 times prettier in person! The sparkle is very evident! I say we get Jess to make this type of polish in every holo glitter, yes?? This was 2 coats plus two coats of topcoat.

The Witching Hour is an orange, purple, black, and green micro holo glitter. Again, another that is really much much more sparkly and intense in person! 3 coats, plus topcoat.

Spooky Lights is the Halloween version of Twinkle Lights and Patriot, with orange, purple, green, and black glitters. 3 coats plus topcoat.

Black Cat Optional in a silver holographic glitter with orange and black and white glitters mixed in. This is 3 coats, plus topcoat.

Also returning this year is Swamp Thing, the lovely green polish she released last year.

What do you think? Which of these is your favorite?

Round 29: Bestie Twin Nails with The Little Canvas!

Hey guys!

Nothing To Disclose Press Sample

It's time again for Bestie Twin Nails with Alaina from The Little Canvas! Today we are doing a simple orange and black dotticure AND I have two Sally Hansen polishes to review for you!

Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Black to Black is a standard black creme. It's very black and could be considered a one coater but I wanted a tiny bit more so I did two coats. Orange Zest is an orange creme and this had a thinner formula, needing 3 coats for complete opacity.

Then I dotted OMGhost from last year's Halloween release onto my ring finger, along with Black to Black. And for the flakies on the middle finger, I added Nine Zero Lacquer Flakie All The Things!

We wanted to add some "goobley eyes" to the pointer finger. My daughter calls googley eyes "goobley eyes" and it just cracks me up every time she says it, lol!

Nine Zero Lacquer The Accent Glitters

Hey guys!

Press Sample

Today I have the Nine Zero Lacquer The Accent Glitters collection to show you! This is either perfect timing or horrible timing because I just noticed that only two of the Accent Glitters are in the Last Call section of the Nine Zero shop and the rest have sold out! My bad!

Diamond is a silver holographic glitter. This is 2 coats and in person it is not completely opaque but it's so sparkly that it looked opaque enough for me to call it good. One coat of topcoat.

Rose Quartz is a light pink holographic glitter in a clear base. This was another that was 2 coats but for complete, 100% opacity needed a third but I stopped at two. All of these glitters are incredibly holographic so they look like they are completely covering, even though you can make out a few tiny gaps if you look closely. Plus topcoat.

Amethyst is a light purple holographic glitter in a clear base. The same goes for this as the previous two: 2 coats, but probably needed 3. Plus topcoat.

Ruby is red holographic glitter in a clear base. I did 3 coats plus topcoat for this (and the rest of the polishes). I must have been lazy for the first 3 LOL!!

Citrine is a yellow green holographic glitter in a clear base. This was 3 coats, plus topcoat.

Emerald is a teal green holographic glitter in a clear base. 3 coats, plus topcoat.

Sapphire is a cobalt blue holographic glitter in a clear base. 3 coats, plus topcoat.

Onyx is a black holographic glitter in a clear base. 3 coats plus topcoat.

So as I mentioned, only two of these polishes are currently available (Rose Quartz and Citrine), which is unfortunate because they are beautiful. I still love accent glitters, even though I greatly neglect mine. I think I shall revisit some glitter/creme polish combos soon!

daniPro Nail Polish - Swatches!

Hey guys!

Press Sample

Today I have some polishes from a new line called daniPro, a line created by a podiatrist, and named after his daughter, Danielle. These polishes are infused with Undecylenic acid and are free of formaldehyde, formaldehyde resin, DBP, TPHP, and toluene.

First is My Girl. This is a medium bright pink and was opaque in two coats but was a bit streaky so I did a 3rd. This was quite shiny without topcoat but I did use the topcoat they sent along and it was quite shiny! The formula was good though, no running or pooling!

Next is First Kiss. This was another really shiny polish and opaque in two coats, plus topcoat. This also had a nice formula!

These polishes are available at danipronails.com and retail for $18 each.

NYC New York Color Show Time Lip Balms! Swatches + Review

Hey guys!

Press Sample

I have some new drugstore lip balms to share with you! I was sent 3 of the new NYC New York Color Show Time Lip Balms and wanted to do some lip swatches and a review.

The colors I have are the 3 lightest shades: 100 Cool Nude, 110 Trendy Peach, and 200 Popular Pink. The entire line consists of 6 shades, with a fuchsia, red, and coral rounding out the collection.

Since these are lip balms and not lipsticks, they are very sheer but feel very moisturizing on the lips.

L-R: Popular Pink, Trendy Peach, Cool Nude.

 Cool Nude

Trendy Peach. This lip balm has glitter in it. I personally don't care for that and I could feel the glitter on my lips, although it was a fine glitter. You can see a glitter speck in the corner of my mouth and on the lips. I love this color but I was not a fan of the glitter.

Popular Pink, a cool toned pink and the most pigmented of these three shades.

While I don't care for the glitter in Trendy Peach, these were super comfortable to wear. As a balm, they aren't the most long lasting but my lips didn't feel chapped or dry after the balm wore off. Cool Nude is my favorite!

Have you seen the NYC New York Color Show Time Lip Balms? Are you going to pick any of these guys up? These are nice to keep in the car or throw in your purse! As with all NYC products, these are very affordable at $1.99 each!

Nine Zero Valley Isle Collection!

Hey guys!

Press Sample

Today I have swatches of the 4 new polishes from Nine Zero Lacquer and the Valley Isle collection! This collection is inspired by Jess's recent vacation to Maui (which prompted me to call this collection Lil Mau Mau because she didn't have a name picked for a while, lol!)

First up is Coconut, a creamy off white with tons of gold flakies. This had a great formula and was opaque in 3 coats.

Volcanic is a rust red with gold and copper flakies. This was 2 coats!

Trade Winds is "a medium blue jelly base with blue shimmer, color shifting flakies, silver micro shreds, and a pinch of gold shimmer". 3 coats. This is probably the most sheer but the visible nail line was not as apparent in person as it is showing here.

Black Cove is a black jelly with silver holographic micro shreds. This was another great formula and opaque in 3 coats.

I love Volcanic the best, I think. These polishes release Friday June 3 at 11am EST!
