Julep Maven July Box

Next, Kate, a pearly white creme polish. I used 2 coats for this swatch. These photos do not capture the pearliness of the polish in any way. Wah wah...

Finally, America, a combination of red, blue, and silver glitter. Obviously perfect for the 4th of July; I used 2 coats over Julep Kate.

Cult Nails Fairytale Collection!

Hey guys!

Today I have the Cult Nails Fairytale collection for you!

First, Evil Queen, a delightfully saucy red creme. Ya'll know I'm not big on reds usually but this is a lovely cherry red.

Two coats, no top coat.

Happy Ending is a multi colored shredded glitter. This applied very nicely, I didn't have to blob it onto the nail like I expected. This is one coat over Evil Queen.

Charming, a violet purple with blue and pink shimmer. This was a bit sheer so I used 3 coats.

Princess is a pale blue with subtle pink shimmer. I used 3 thin coats here.

Feelin' Froggy, a kelly green with green shimmer. Originally, this was not supposed to have shimmer but I'm so glad that it does! This is my favorite from this collection :-)

Two coats.

Cult Nails polishes can be purchased at CultNails.com. This collection is currently available.

Layering Spam!

Next, Pretty & Polished On Equal Ground over Julep Marisa. 1 coat of P&P.

Finally, Ozotic over Julep Maggie. In my notes, I have Ozotic 525, but I'm pretty sure that's wrong. I think it's 528.... I'm too lazy to go get the bottle, lol. Anyway, one coat!

Julep Spam

Hey guys!

These are polishes that came in my last Julep Mystery box. Alyson, Maggie, and Marisa! Ohhhhh, shiny! Let's take a look!

First, Alyson. This is an 'almond creme' polish. I don't have many (if any) colors like this in my collection, because... well, they are a bit boring to me. But this wasn't as bad as I was anticipating. Luckily, I don't need to worry about having work appropriate colors on my nails but if I did, I'm sure I'd have more colors like this :-)

This was two easy coats, as per usual with Julep.

Next is Marisa, a lovely cobalt blue shimmery polish. This is two coats and just so ya know, this baby did not stain my nails. Whoot whoot!

And finally, Maggie. Julep describes this as a 'frosty eggplant' but to me, this is not frosty at all. I used 2 coats here. In the photos, I noticed the visible nail line (VNL) but it was not noticeable in person.

What do you think? If you have not tried Julep yet, you can do so here (this is my referral link and I will get credit if/when you sign up). Use code COLOR2012 to get your first Maven box for only $0.01!

Franken Fun!

Hey guys! Happy Monday! Did everyone have a good weekend? I pretty much hung out by myself, as my husband had to work long days all weekend. It wasn't too bad... saw a movie, got some swatching done.... good times, lol.

Today I have a pretty little baby I made not too long ago. It is loosely based on a polish by a popular and controversial maker. I didn't name it; any suggestions?

I used 1 coat of my franken over a white base.

Whatcha think?
