SNAAARKM Challenge Day 7: Water Marble

Hey guys! Fun fact: This is my 300th Post! Whoohoo!!

And I'm posting this early because I've got super fun plans for this evening soo... yeah! You get to see my post earlier than the rest, muahahaha!

Today is the last day of the SNAAARKM Challenge. I've had fun with these posts; have you enjoyed reading them?

For the last challenge, we are water marbling. I've only water marbled once and it was easier the first time than it was this time! What?? I don't know what's up with that.

Onto the pictures!

Yeah... not very pretty. I liked a few of the nails but not most of them. I did get compliments on this mani, though, and that made me feel good :-)

I used:
Wet n Wild Black Creme
NOPI Back To Reality...TV
China Glaze Lemon Fizz
China Glaze Make Some Noise
China Glaze Flying Dragon

In my experience, China Glaze works the best for marbling. I don't know why that is, but I got much better results this time than I did with my first attempt at this challenge using a different brand.  Did that even make sense??? Whatevs.

What do you think? Have you water marbled? Do you like it? Do you have secrets you can share? LOL

Check out my challenge partner's water marbles!

SNAAARKM Challenge: Day 6: My Forever Mani

Hey guys!

Today's challenge is My Forever Mani. At first, I was going to use a polish that I always wore when I was younger: Maybelline Express Vintage Burgundy. It's the perfect vampy color; probably one of my top 20 colors of all time (partly for the nostalgia and partly for the color).

Then I decided that, who am I kidding? Glitter is my forever mani. I will never stop loving glitter. So I used my beloved OPI Absolutely Alice that my good friend Jamie sent to me. This was the first time I had worn AA because it is so pretty, I didn't want to run out! And I like seeing it sitting in my "Untrieds" Bin, lol.

I. Love. This!! It looks fabulous on nubs, if I do say so myself. I didn't put a top coat on yet, I was hurrying to get this post ready.

Two lovely coats. It is a little thick, but I kind of like that; it covered nicely!

Thank you so much, Jamie! I Luff it! <3

Be sure to check out the other ladies posts! We only have one more post and it's the WATERMARBLE! Ack!!! LOL!

SNAAARKM Challenge Day 5: My Favorite Effect

Hey guys! Time for the latest SNAAARKM Challenge!

Today's Challenge is "My Favorite Effect" and I just realized after applying this polish, photographing, and drafting this that I thought it said "my Favorite Technique" so I'm really dumb. ANYWAY, it's too late and oh well :-)

Since my favorite technique is glitter and that's not really a technique (or an effect, whoops), I chose to do a 'cocktail mani.' The cocktail mani is when you paint the first 3 fingers of your cocktail hand (in my case, my right hand) a sparkly color, and the rest of your fingers are a different color.

Let me show you!

I used 2 coats of Finger Paints 15 Minutes Of Frame on my left hand and on my ring and pinky fingers of my right hand, and FP's Movie In The Park on the first 3 fingers of my right hand.

I know technically this isn't a technique and it's not really an effect either, but I think it's a really cool trend right now and it's obviously super easy. And I did this about 5 minutes before I had to post this, haha!

Oh and this is not even remotely color accurate :-/ 15 Minutes Of Frame is a neon minty/kelly green. It's a really cool color, I don't have anything like it in my stash. There is no top coat on these pictures, either.

Left Hand...

Right Hand!

Enjoy the sideways picture! Ack, today I am just... aack! LOL!!

Be sure to check out the other ladies' posts; I am really enjoying seeing what everyone comes up with!

SNAAARKM Challenge Day 3: Dotting Tool

Hey guys!

Welcome to day 3 of the SNAAARKM Challenge. Today requires the use of a dotting tool. Now, I have dotting tools but I hadn't actually used them yet so I was glad for this challenge. It's one of those things that just sits on top of my nail polish drawer and I never grab them. So today, I did!

I used the same mani I did for the Day 2 Challenge (OPI Vampsterdam) and dotted using the Color Colub Take Wing collection.

Sorry for subjecting you to my ugly thumb but ya gotta see the dots! The thumb and ring finger colors look the same, but I promise you they are two different colors.

From thumb to pinky:
Color Club Daisy Does It
Color Club Sparkle And Soar
Petites Utopia
Color Club Fly With Me
Color Club Sky High

And that's my dotticure! Very simple. But I liked it and I got a few compliments on it at work :-) And I didn't take pictures, but my other hand has the corresponding colors painted as solids... so I have Lotsa Dots and Skittles! LOL

Be sure to check out the other ladies posts for their awesome dotticures!

SNAAARKM Challenge Day 2: A Classic

Hey guys!

Welcome to Day 2 of the SNAAARKM Challenge! I loved what the other ladies did with their jelly sammich's and I can't wait to see what their 'Classic' mani's look like!

First, a Reminder of the Challenge Days...

Now for today's mani.

A "classic" mani made me think for a second. Actually, I polled my Twitter followers to see what their idea of a classic mani was and there were a bunch of different answers! I decided to go with what I was originally thinking, which is a vampy color.

Coincidentally, I received this lovely from my G Maria at Nails Made Simple. This is OPI Vampsterdam from the recent Holland Collection.

Vampsterdam is a deep purple with red undertones. I used two coats and no top coat for these pictures.

Pretty simple, but I guess that's why it's a classic, ha!

Check out the other ladies blogs to see their take on a Classic Mani!

Hey guys!

Today is the start of a 7 Piece Challenge that was brought to my attention my Ryan at Dream A Little Dream Of Polish. Basically, there are 8 of us that will be posting everyone day with an awesome manicure. These posts will go up at 6pm on the days listed.

Our Posting Schedule:
  • Day 1: Jelly Sandwich - Monday, May 14th
  • Day 2: A 'Classic' - Wednesday, May 16th
  • Day 3: Dotting Tool - Friday, May 18th
  • Day 4: Glitter, Rhinestones, and Fimo, Oh My! - Sunday, May 20th
  • Day 5: My Favorite Effect - Tuesday, May 22nd
  • Day 6: My Forever Mani - Thursday, May 24th

For my Jelly Sandwich, I used Pretty and Polished Jawbreaker with OPI Care To Danse. CTD is super super sheer. I used 4 coats as a base (!!) and then one coat of Jawbreaker, then 2 coats of CTD. I think this is my first official jelly sandwich, and I can definitely see what the big deal is! Super fun!

What do you think of my first jelly sammich?
